You don't have to be an experienced birder to enjoy these field trips! As your guide, I will be spotting and identifying the birds that we see, and making sure that you have as much time as you like to enjoy watching them, learning about them, and photographing them. The trips are fun and relaxing, and a great way to enjoy nature with friends and family.

Tour participants will ride in air-conditioned/heated comfort in a passenger van, where they will be able to get close views of the birds without doing a lot of hiking. These field trips are perfect for those who want to stay out of the weather but still want to enjoy nature, and for those with limited mobility.

We're also pleased to offer birding trips by boat in partnership with Marine Nature & Birding Tours.

Details on the meeting location in Galveston will be provided with your registration confirmation. Parking is free.

Private tours to these and other locations are also available upon arrangement, including groups or families with younger children. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Kristine Rivers at kristine@birdingforfun.com.

When you're just starting out, using your field guide to try to identify a bird in the field can be a little difficult! We'll help you narrow down where to look in your field guide, and talk about different identification methods using size and shape, behavior and habitat clues. Then you'll have a chance to practice your identification skills, so be sure to bring your field guide with you!

RSVP to OLLI by phone at 409-763-5604 or email at msierpin@UTMB.edu.
